Pacific HiTech is proud to present this complimentary copy of our MacGames CD-ROM to MacWorld readers in the United States. Pacific Hitech has been producing and distributing CD-ROM's since 1992. We are headquartered in Salt Lake City, amid the scenic slopes of the Western Rockies, and we welcome you to pay us a visit if your travels bring you this way!
Our MacInternet Series of CD-ROMs are public domain software and shareware from the Internet, and are among our most popular titles. They contain the best and most up-to-date Macintosh programs and files available anywhere. In addition to MacGames, we offer the following titles: Info-Mac, HyperStacks and MacSource. We have included a good selection of programs from these discs on this CD-ROM which we hope you find useful and perhaps entertaining.
In October of 1994 Pacific HiTech released four new hybrid CD-ROM's: Jupiter Impact, The Norman Bosworth Photography Series, The Paper CD Series and The PHT Illustrations CD-ROM. On the current CD-ROM we have put a few samples of images from these discs as well.
We hope that you enjoy our MacGames CD-ROM and look forward to your comments and suggestions!

Organization:
We have organized this CD-ROM for easy access to the games and other programs you might choose to use. On the top level of the CD there are several folders which are arranged as follows:
MacGames Folder:
This folder contains all of the games found on the Info-Mac MacGames CD-ROM. These games have been collected from Stanford University's Sumex-Aim site on the Internet during the past two years and have been placed into the following categories: Arcade, Board, Bolo, Card, Commercial, and General.
InfoMac 4 Folder:
This folder contains the main interface program for our InfoMac 4 CD-ROM. Included in this directory are several sample files and programs taken from the actual disc. The Info-Mac 4 CD-ROM is the fourth in our popular Info-Mac series, and new versions are released every few months.
MacSource Folder:
This folder contains the main interface program for our MacSource CD-ROM. Included in this directory are several sample files and programs taken from the actual CD. The disc itself contains a wealth of source code, in several languages, along with compilers, interpreters, text editors and other utilities. It is the most comprehensive collection of Macintosh programs and files available for programmers.
HyperStacks Folder:
This folder contains the main interface program for our HyperStacks CD-ROM. Included in this directory are several sample files and programs taken from the actual disc. Whether you are a HyperCard™ beginner or a hard-core HyperCard™ programmer, this CD-ROM will be a welcome addition to your software collection. It has 1000 useful stacks that can do anything from help you balance your checkbook to fix your bicycle to program your Macintosh.
Other PHT CDs:
This folder contains various Screenshots and Samples from four of our brand new hybrid CD-ROMs: Jupiter Impact, Norman Bosworth Photography series, Paper CD, and the PHT Illustrations CD. The actual discs include viewers for both Macintosh® and Microsoft Windows™. Within each of these folders, there are screenshots of the Macintosh viewer, and some samples of what the discs themselves contain.
NOTE:
Please note that Pacific HiTech is not affiliated with Stanford University, and that Stanford University and the moderators of the site are in no way responsible for the production or distribution of this CD-ROM. We do contribute some of the proceeds from sales of the CDs back to the archive in order to help pay for needed hardware and other expenses. We wish to thank the moderators of the Sumex-Aim site and all of the authors who have contributed to this vast body of great Macintosh software. Please remember if you use a shareware program for more than a short period of time that you are required to pay a separate fee directly to the author of the program.
